THE ROAD TRAFFIC (2007 ORDER) (COMMENCEMENT NO.9) ORDER (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2012

The Department of the Environment has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Road Traffic (2007 Order) (Commencement No.9) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012” (S.R.2012 No.16 (C.3)).

This Order brings into operation on 23rd April 2012 the provisions of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 2007 as outlined below.

Article 12 enables the police and vehicle examiners to require the payment of a deposit by offenders who avoid payment of fixed penalty deposits and prosecution by not having a satisfactory address in the United Kingdom.

Article 13 and Schedule 1 provide for the immobilisation of vehicles that have been prohibited from driving and for the removal and disposal of such vehicles.
