AIR QUALITY
MANAGEMENT AREA
DEPARTMENT: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Derry City Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 12(1) of the Environment (N.I.) Order 2002, has made
an Order declaring 2 no. additional Air Quality Management Areas in its District due to a likely breach of the Nitrogen Dioxide
(Annual Mean) Objective, as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (N.I.) 2003.
This Order and the designated Air Quality Management Areas came into effect on 22 December 2011. The Order shall remain in
force until it is varied or revoked by a subsequent Order.
The first designated Air Quality Management Area incorporates all of Ebrington Terrace and Columba Terrace on Limavady Road,
Derry and Numbers 1 - 19 Glendermott Road, Derry. The second designated area incorporates all of St Patrick’s Terrace, Derry,
all of Maybrook Terrace, Derry and Numbers 1 - 12 Collon Terrace, Buncrana Road, Derry.
The Order and a map showing the extent of the Air Quality Management Areas can be inspected at the offices of the Environmental
Health Department of Derry City Council between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
