NOTICE OF PROPOSED DRAINAGE SCHEME NOT LIKELY TO HAVE SIGNIFICANT EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Springtown Stream, Derry
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for Northern Ireland hereby gives notice in pursuance of Article 12 of
the Drainage (Northern Ireland) Order 1973 (as amended) that it proposes to carry out a drainage scheme on the Waringstown
Drain Ext.
The proposed scheme entails the upgrading of 140m length of defective culvert which conveys the Springtown Stream through
Council playing fields.
Having determined that the proposed works are not, by reason amongst other things of their nature, size and location, likely
to have significant environmental effects it is the Department’s intention not to prepare an Environmental Statement.
Any person who (i) considers that his interest will be prejudicially affected or (ii) wishes to make representations with
regard to the Department’s intention not to prepare an Environmental Statement may send any observations in writing in regard
to the scheme to:

The closing date for the receipt of representations is 17 September 2010.
A copy of the Scheme proposals is available for inspection, free of charge, by any person during the period to 20 August 2010
to 17 September 2010 inclusive at the following offices between the hours of 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
