ROAD CLOSURE ORDER UNDER S.32 JUSTICE AND SECURITY ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2007
The Secretary of State considers it necessary for the preservation of peace or the maintenance of order to make the following
order in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 32 of the Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007.
The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland by order, directs that Shore Road, Ballykinler from 433365 to 429366 be closed
to all vehicle traffic (including (but not limited to) motorbikes, bicycles and riders on horseback). Any works necessary
or expedient to give effect to this Order may be carried out by the Police Service of Northern Ireland or a member of Her
Majesty’s Forces on duty.
This order does not apply to vehicles being used by:

(i)
|
Members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service or Her Majesty’s Forces who
are on duty; and
|
|
(ii)
|
Medical practitioners, paramedics, nurses and midwives who are on duty;
|
|
(iii)
|
Any person who requires access to this road for the purpose of maintaining public utilities (including (but not limited to)
gas pipes, water mains, telephone lines, and electricity cables) and has been given permission to enter by a member of the
Police Service of Northern Ireland or Her Majesty’s Forces who was on duty at the time such permission was given;

This order shall come into force on 21 July 2010.
Any person who without reasonable excuse:

Interferes with road closure works,
|
| |
Interferes with road closure equipment,
|
| |
Executes bypass works within 200 metres of road closure works,
|
| |
Has in their possession or under their control within 200 metres of road closure works material or equipment suitable for
executing bypass works
|
| |
Knowingly permits on land occupied by them the doing or occurrence of any of the above,
|
May be prosecuted and if convicted may be fined and/or imprisoned for up to 6 months.
